The best camera? One that is with you every day. Daily images taken from my iphone.
The variety of commercial photography is what makes it so enjoyable. One day you could be shooting heavy machinery in a busy factory, the next you could be shooting lifestyle shots at the coast followed by product shots in the studio. No matter what each shoot may bring my personal goal is to always over deliver and provide the consistency and attention to detail which is crucial in providing my clients with the quality they deserve.
Inspired by the Rorschach ink blot tests, I wanted to create a photograph which would involve the viewer to observe the image and invoke discussion on what they could see. One of the greatest challenges faced was how to create photographs which did not have the appearance of actually been a photograph. Since 2007 Perception has evolved into a vast, almost obsessive body of work, continuing to evolve through experimental processes while remaining true to the photograph by avoiding post manipulation.
Throughout our lives, we all imagine shapes in clouds and see faces in patterns. Perceptions is a body of work which invites you to observe the imaginary objects hidden within your mind.
Most of my photography tends to be part of a larger body of work, but sometimes they are just simply one off shots taken at the right place at the right time. Unknown untitled is a random rotation picked from some of my favourite images.
What I love most about photography is it's available to everyone and the way it has become such an integral part of our daily lives. There are so many creative people out there producing amazing images every day. Photography does not have to to be expensive, some times I find that the best camera is the one which is with you every day, which for most of us is our mobile phones.
Everywhere I walk, everywhere I look, I will always see an opportunity or an idea for a photograph, my iphone portfolio is intended as an outlet to share with you some of my daily photographs as I wander through my day.
